Starting Something New

While I’ve been sharing every day on IG stories, I’ve been out of pocket here on posts. Between managing AHOC (a house of Covid—myself included) and dropping off my firstborn in NYC to begin her college career (pictured here), I CHOSE to spend 100% of my time focusing on them/us!

It occurred to me that THIS is the challenge of every mother managing her personal and professional life. This is nothing new. But for a few reasons this season seems different—more complex. There’s an acute awareness of time passing, a sense of life’s fragility. Many of us begin to consider our legacy—what are we doing here? How can we be of service? What were we uniquely made to create and become? There’s an awakened restless within us AND a profound desire to be there for the moments that matter most in the lives of those we love.

I know I’m not alone here. I know many of you feel the pull of being available for children, partners and parents (an added responsibility for many of us as they age) while wondering what’s next for ourselves. This is yet another reason I shifted our focus at LIBERTY ROAD. I want us to talk about “starting something new.”

In midlife. I want you to hear from others who have managed to create and serve in this season that sits between the first 30 and the later 30 years of life.

I would love to hear from each of you. Tell me (leave a comment or DM me) what you want to birth (author a book, produce a documentary, launch a business, start a non-profit, become an influencer, etc.) and the roadblocks you’re navigating. I want to share examples and solutions that will inspire and equip your journey right here on IG.
